ANDALUCIA SCHOOL OF PHOTOGRAPHY - Art and technique in photography
Sue Callister and Alberto Saro established the school in 2007 with the core belief that to teach well it is necessary to give
the highest level of personal attention. Maximum class size for the digital courses is 6 students whilst for the B&W courses
numbers are limited to 2 students.
We also specialise in creating tailor made one on one courses. This allows us to give an unrivalled level of personal
guidance, focusing on the requirements that each of you may have in a relaxed environment. We also like to indulge
your senses in the beauty, history, culture and cuisine of the area.
SUE CALLISTER graduated from Art School in 1984, then went onto teach
for a number of years before establishing her own Graphic Design Studio catering to some of Australia’s most respected Blue Chip Corporations.
Sue has been at the centre of fine photography, firstly in Australia and
now
in Andalucia during the past 11 years.
Indulging her love of teaching and communication in the arts, Sue conducts classes, workshops and mentoring sessions from her home in Jimena. She
has learnt from and been mentored in the craft of B&W printing by Australia’s best photographic exponents. Her exhibitions, both solo and group, have
been held in Australia and in Spain and her photographs are held in
private and public collections.
ALBERTO SARO graduated from Boston University with a degree in Business Management working in the UK, Australia and Spain. He has been passionate about photography since his teens and has always maintained his craft by keeping abreast of the developments taking place in this field. Although a
keen photographer and B&W darkroom printer, his speciality is in teaching
the technical side of digital photography.
Growing up in the family restaurant business, Alberto also has a great passion for food and wine and is a wonderful cook which comes in very handy when lunch time has arrived. Being a native Spainard he is also fluent in English, Italian and French and is more than happy to share his knowledge on anything culinary and photographic.
