The Photographic Workshops are held in Jimena de la frontera, one of the white villages of Andalucia. It can trace its history back to Roman times when the town was called Oba. It has since passed through the hands of the Visigoths, the Moors and finally Spain in the 15 Century.
Located on the edge of the Alcornocales Natural Park, one of the largest in Spain, which borders the Atlantic and Mediterranean, offering views over the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa. There are cave paintings from the paleolithic period as well as many other archeological sites. The deep valleys and its geographic location create a subtropical climate that supports a great variety of flora and fauna. The forest is mainly made up of the cork oak tree and is one of the largest of its kind, being a major source for the wine trade. The forest supports an abundance of mushrooms that are harvested during the autumn and winter months.
